Product Review of Dorot’s Crushed Garlic

I am all about shortcuts, aren’t you too? So when I saw these frozen crushed garlic cubes, I knew immediately I had to give them a whirl. I found these at Trader Joes but I have also found them at Walmart a while ago in the frozen vegetable section. These garlic cubes come with 20 little cubes and each cube is equivalent to one garlic clove. The size of the container is compact and does not keep your freezer smelling garlicky. If you’re using the garlic for a dish in which you must saute the garlic, then you can just pop one out into your pan and let the heat slowly defrost the garlic into a perfect paste. If you need the garlic in a dish that is not cooked, simply pop out how many cloves you need into a small dish and let the frozen garlic cubes thaw out for 10 minutes and voila, perfect chopped garlic in a flash without getting your chopping board out. I know nothing beats fresh garlic! You can also take a whole bulb of garlic and peel it and put the garlic in a food processor and chop until fine and freeze the garlic in a Ziploc bag and let it thaw out on the counter for about ten minutes before scooping out the desired amount for your dish. I know it is much cheaper to do that, however, if your not on a budget, splurge on Dorat’s Crushed Garlic at Trader Joe’s for about $3 and give it a try!
