What’s around Saturn!
Hello my fellow readers. I’m very glad you have stopped by my blog and I invite you to come and stay for awhile. I would like for you to see what’s around my world. My name is Saturn and no my parents are not hippies at all! (I get asked this question a lot more than I care to count.) The disbelief I get when I tell folks my name is Saturn is hilarious! (They act as if I’m an alienđź‘˝) I’m always replying the same way giving away my age every single time by telling people I came before the car and after the planet. The funniest part of my name is my middle which is pronounced sun but not spelled the same. I asked my dad shortly before he passed away why he named me Saturn and he simply said that he looked up into the stars one night while trying to figure out what he wanted my forever name to be and the name Saturn came to him.
Now that you all know the background of my name, let’s talk about why I wanted to start a blog. I am a mother of two beautiful babies and to a French bulldog named Sophie and have been married for almost ten years. I’ve worked for the United States Postal Service for over fifteen long years as a Mail handler and I am looking for a new career. Don’t get me wrong, the Postal Service is a great job, but it isn’t a career for me. Who doesn’t want to wake up every morning and say, “I love my job!!”? Well this lady right here can not wait to say that. As for now, I am managing my blog and with a background in Technical Writing and years of cooking and baking under my sleeve, I figured why not make a blog and use my degree for something I am highly passionate about! I can not wait to show you what’s around my world because it’s unique and lovely. I want to share with my readers some of the “hand me down” southern recipes from my dear grandmother (who just passed this year at 94), recipes from my Korean side along with some baked goodies and new invented recipes. I will delight you all with pictures of Sophie the French bulldog and my on going obsession with Trader Joe’s. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will enjoy what’s around my world.

Saturn Phillips is currently employed full time with the USPS. She is an active Steward for her local in the Mail handler Union and is passionate about fighting for the jobs of Mail handlers. While she isn't busy working, she loves to take care of her family and her fur baby, Sophie the french bulldog. Saturn believes in cooking Sunday dinners and getting back to the basics of cooking and learning about life in the kitchen. In the kitchen is where she does all her brain storming to come up with new recipes from different cultures and is always willing to try something new or develop a new technique. Saturn loves to visit local mom and pop shops in Nashville and feature them in her blog. She says, "It is extremely important to help local businesses and build a community of supporting members that always helps each other out."
